The Colonel goes to speak with his friend because he regrets selling the rooster. The doctor and the Colonel walk together from the friend’s house and into the bar. The doctor is trying to get the Colonel to gamble but the Colonel does not gamble. The colonel takes the money to buy new shoes and medicine for his wife. The colonel also bought coffee and other groceries. The colonel cleans some items and then goes again to the post office. The Colonel asks his friend to allow the Colonel to take care of the rooster and to train it. The wife is angry when she sees the children playing with the chicken.
